Berry’s research examines human capital in developing countries, with a particular focus on education and children’s health.
Pekanov is a lecturer at Vienna University of Economics and Business and was previously a visiting scholar at Harvard.
He is the Kenneth C. Griffin Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago and was recently named chief economist of Walmart.
If confirmed, the Sidley Austin senior partner will lead the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London.
He was previously chair of the economics division at Columbia Graduate School of Business.
