Renee Bowen to join Georgetown University next year
Political economist Renee Bowen is set to join the faculty of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
She will move to the institution from the University of California, San Diego, where she is currently a professor of economics, a professor and faculty fellow at the university’s School of Global Policy and Strategy, and the founder and director of the Center for Commerce and Diplomacy.
In a social media post announcing the new appointment, Bowen said she will take up the new post next July.
Bowen’s research focuses on political economy, microeconomic theory and international trade. Her work has applied dynamic game theory to study the behavior of individuals who are constrained by institutions and who have long-term strategic considerations.
In 2021, the economist served for a one-year term as the senior economist for trade on the White House Council of Economic Advisers.
