Agricultural economist Jason Grant awarded Wysor professorship at Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech has appointed Jason Grant as W.G. Wysor professor of agriculture.
He was previously professor of agricultural and applied economics at the university, and is also director of the Center for Agricultural Trade at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Virginia Tech (VT).
Grant has been a member of the VT faculty since 2007, and has published 36 peer-reviewed papers and three book chapters. He has received more than $4.6 million in external research funding, and is associate editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics.
The W.G. Wysor Professorship was established by the Southern States Cooperative Inc, and recognizes excellence in service and the candidate’s potential to further impact the college and Virginia agriculture. The appointment has a five-year term.
