Labor economist Ines Helm joins Linz

Johannes Kepler University Linz in Austria has appointed Ines Helm as a professor of economics.
She joined the institution on Oct. 1 from LMU Munich, where she was an associate professor, and was previously an assistant professor at Stockholm University.
Linz’s main fields of interest are applied economics and labor economics, and her research has focused on the economics of local labor markets and factors including job displacement, wage inequality and labor market power.
She obtained her Ph.D. from University College London.
Commenting on the appointment on X, Helm said: “I’m looking forward to this new chapter and the interactions with my new colleagues! Thanks also to my colleagues @ECONMunich for the last three years!”
