Michèle Belot appointed as Frances Perkins professor at Cornell
Cornell University has appointed economist Michèle Belot as Frances Perkins professor of industrial and labor relations and economics.
She currently holds a joint appointment as a professor within both the university’s school of industrial and labor relations (ILR) and its department of economics.
Belot’s research interests lie at the intersection of behavioral, labor and health economics. Her recent projects have focused on “open mindedness” and identifying the factors that can influence people to consider other views, other jobs, or adopt healthier behaviors.
Belot’s appointment marks the second Frances Perkins Professorship at ILR. Professor Francine Blau was the school’s first appointment and continues in that post.
Belot’s appointment began on April 1, 2023.
