US Bank names Beth Ann Bovino as chief economist

U.S. Bank has appointed Beth Ann Bovino as its new chief economist, the company announced on May 3.

In her new role, Bovino will lead U.S. Bank’s existing economic research capabilities to support client-facing businesses, as well as provide economic scenario analysis for treasury balance sheet management activities, CCAR stress testing, and CECL modeling processes.

Bovino holds a master’s degree in international economics from Yale University, and a doctorate in economics from Columbia University.

Bovino brings almost three decades of experience in macroeconomic and financial analysis to her new role, having supported several government, finance, and information organizations throughout her career.

Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Bovino was the managing director and chief North American economist at S&P Global Ratings. In this role, she oversaw forecasting operations for the North American economy and provided regular commentary on the economy and financial markets. Bovino’s insights on a variety of economic topics have been featured in national media.
