OECD names Steve MacFeely as chief statistician
The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development has appointed econometrician Steve MacFeely as chief statistician at the intergovernmental agency.
He takes over from Paul Schreyer, and joins from the World Health Organization, where he was director of data and analytics and acting data protection officer.
MacFeely was previously director of statistics at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and assistant director general at the Central Statistics Office in Ireland.
He obtained his Ph.D. in economic statistics from the University College Cork, a higher diploma in statistics from Trinity College Dublin, and his master’s degree in economics from University College Dublin.
MacFeely started work in the new role on August 26.
