Ayşegül Şahin to join Princeton University
Princeton University’s board of trustees has approved the appointment of Ayşegül Şahin as a professor of economics and public affairs.
She will join the institution in July next year from the University of Texas at Austin, where she currently holds the Richard J. Gonzalez regents chair.
Şahin’s research focuses on topics including unemployment, labor force participation, entrepreneurship and inflation.
Prior to working at UT Austin, she was a research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and earlier in her career was an assistant professor at Purdue University.
Şahin is a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and serves on the Economic Advisory Panel to the Congressional Budget Office. She is also an advisor to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Carnegie-Rochester-NYU conference and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
